DRT - I was truly surprised that he dropped so quickly!

Thanks guys. I believe info like this has potential for turning Grendel sceptics. For the last 20 years at least, my national gunpress has raised me to believe in heavy bullets and high V0.

I was a big fan of the 270. 130g bullet at 3000 fps. Speed turns their insides to mush. I have shot eight whitetail sand hoping for #9 right now, with my Grendel. Three to seven pointers, 100-180 yards. A couple dropped, and the farthest one went was fifty yards.

Approximate 150# Whitetail buck bedded down
100 yard shot entered just behind shoulder, exited just in front of the diaphragm
travelled a little over 100 yards with the last 20 being tobogganing down a snowy slope on his side.

110gr. Cutting Egde Raptor bore rider, 2550 fps.
                        150# Whitetail buck
Directly below stand, 30ft. Ballistic distance 2 ft.
Impact between shoulders just left of spine, exit center of chest
Jumped about 5 ft. Straight up,DRT.
You don't always get the shot you want and you shouldn't alway take the shot you have. Lesson learned. What a mess!

I have 3.5 down with the Grendel. My Gmx research started in 2010..

Forgot- first Grendel deer- in 2008- 6 pt. buck 400yds. Windy, took front leg off., it ran 75 yds. to next shooter- done.

A 100 Gmx 2010= a medium doe- full frontal shot - went to the hip- ... 48" of travel- mostly air space. DRT.

2012- a neck- jugular vein shot- 8 pointer, an hour of cold water rinsing... to post it up , along with my 17 rnd. mag. 95 Gmx. Expired in 20 seconds.

2015- Huge 10 pt. buck- 280 live wt. - fell to a 77 Gmx--21 yd shot....., spinal destruction, DRT. LESS IS MORE with the Grrr .
