    120 gr. sierra pro hunter ,deer. 160 yards lasered. lung shot travelled about 30 yards after shot. pics on my other post

        It is really interesting that the preponderance of the animals are shot between 100-150 yards and 250-300 yards.

          120 Gr Sierra Pro Hunter
          135 lb whitetail buck
          Distance 120 yds
          Bullet entered between neck and shoulder right side, exited left side just in front of hind qtr.
          Traveled approx. 50 yds after shot.

              Roe, Thanks for starting the thread as it offers up quite a bit of info to think about. I wish we had started the thread with 1 more item added to the info you asked for and that would be if the load used was " factory ' or "Reload ". Quite a few answered the question in their responses anyway. anyway, Great thread!

                    New Animal Roe!

                    BEAVER

                    Bullet - Hornady SST Factory
                    Distance - 75 yards
                    Location - Left shoulder exit underneath right ribs, broadside shot. Exit wound was small. It did not appear that the bullet had time to expand very much.
                    Distance traveled - 0 yards

                    Bullet - Hornady SST Factory
                    Distance - 65 Yards
                    Location - Left side of head just forward of brain case, exit slightly farther forward. Exit wound showed partial removal of right side of face, extensive fracturing evident.
                    Distance traveled - flopped and swam in circles for about a minute before coming to rest near the bank about 10 yards from where shot
                    Kill a hog. Save the planet.

                      That might as well be an effect of me rounding up/ down. If I find time, I'll try to re-do the tables to better represent the actual shooting range.

                        Here is one for you. Took my first deer today with the new build.

                        Barrel: 20" Satern
                        Ammo: Factory Hornady 123 AMAX at about 2520 fps
                        Shot distance: 95 yards
                        Shot placement: behind right shoulder, exited behind left shoulder as seen
                        Distance deer ran: 25 yards. Excellent blood trail

                          Here are a couple for the year.
                          (1) 18" barrel 140 lb spike buck using factory Hornady SST heart shot @ 175 yards. DRT.
                          (2) 125 lb doe using factory Hornady SST. (too) high shoulder shot. massive wound but ran 120 yards.
                          (3) 8 rabbits. 2 lbs a piece. 50 yards Factory Hornady load DRT
                          (4) 2 skunks. 2 lbs a piece . 50 yards. Factory load. DRT

                            Hog 40 yards 80 lbs DRT
                            Hog 40 yards 60 lbs DRT
                            Hog 40 yards 10 lbs DRT
                            Doe 80 yards 130 lbs DRT
                            Buck 290 yards 155 lbs ran 90 yards (t'word me luckly-and I dont know how he had no heart left)

                              Bullet: 123 gr sst (handload)
                              Animal shot: Pronghorn
                              Distance: 164 yards
                              Shot Placement: Shot in the chest just left of center facing strait at me. Bullet blew through the front of the chest, passed through the chest cavity (lungs and liver), through the stomach, and stopped somewhere in the lower digestive tract. I quit following it at that point.
