    First deer with my grendel!

Cold and chaotic morning in northeast Alabama, small bucks chasing does left and right. Saw this buck heading my way and decided to put him down. I thought that he was a good little six point but the left side of his wrack was broken off , oh well needing the meat for sure. He was only about 25 yards away hit him right behind the front shoulder and he didn't go far at all I'd say 20 yards before he fell dead. I've never seen so much blood, this round suprised me even at that close of range. Shot him with factor 123 grain SST and it turned his heart to mush. Sorry I forgot to take photos but belive me there was damage done.

Nicely done, and you did get a picture. Just not of the internal damage.

Nice job! I'm jealous for sure since I'm still not able to hunt hopefully next year!

Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.

Even at 25 yds a kill is a kill and meat in the freezer.

I've actually seen, and guided a few hunters that screw up a shot that close with an optic, simply because not alot of people practice that close and don't understand how much lower the POI is at close ranged when they are zero at 100 yards lol. Congrats!!

Congrats Clays, that's my hunting range - 20- 50 yds. Whack them up close! Keep the optic on 2-3 power. Just like they do elsewhere on dangerous hunts.
