    Accuracy and Reliability vs Cost
Reputation of the company selling the barrel, will they stand behind any defects that can happen in anybodies manufacturing process
Reputation of the quality of the barrel

Chambers reamed by Manson Reamers, SAAMI spec in the case of the Grendel
SS that has been nitrided has become a requirement for me in my barrels.

Length, contour, weight are mission dependent

    Hope that helps.

Melonited is a must for me now, accuracy"sub moa", quality barrel. Get the most velocity I can from barrel.
Saami chamber is a must from a ar15 barrel
Stand behind product since shit happens from time to time

Love to see barrels from Hawk Hill, Rock Creek, Broughton

          Personally Krieger is overpriced

Funny you ask I'm gonna be looking for a new barrel soon.

            Accuracy- obvious
Reliability with factory fodder, cause you never know when you'll have to buy ammo as opposed to reloading it

Am4966, have you any experience with hawk hill as opposed to others such as bartlein or rock creek. The two rocks I have are more picky it appears. Bartleins eat everything I've fed them in two different calibers, and one being bolt other being ar. I ordered a BHW blank for my bolt Grendel build just to try as I've read their bolt barrels are very accurate. It gives an alternative for more budget minded builds that may come up. If I don't like, I'll put a bartlein on it. Hope this doesn't take away from the thread Paul, if so lemme know. Just trying to pull info.

Acccuracy-first and foremost, possibly tied to twist rates and difference in some barrels I've ordered. Weight, barrel length, profile, velocity all trade offs. Everything else is way down the list. Price has got to be in there somewhere. "I was born with nothing, and I've still got most of it left."

No experience with Hawk Hill but everything I've read screams great barrel. Plus I would like variety, that's what's great with the AR platform so many choices.

Yes imo Bartlien is a great barrel. Since I have a Lilja already and with what's out there for Grendel barrels a Bartlien will be my next barrel. Can't wait to call and order it.

I'm already thinking of parts, lol.

Accuracy first and foremost for me. Most of my shooting with the Grendel is at 1000+, so it would be very apparent if a barrel is up to snuff or not

I voted accuracy. I don't care about aesthetics, and I don't think I'll mind the weight. I plan on tailoring a load for my barrel anyway, so factory ammo is not important to me.

Reliability, accuracy, and 5/8x24 muzzle threads for me. The last one because I have a suppressor and I can't get mounts in 9/16x24.

I'm a hunter, and I'll possibly be carrying the rifle all day. So for me it's lightweight and accuracy tied for first, everything else comes after.
