    W94:

You may need to go into a bit more detail concerning your requirements. For example, will you be using the sling only for carrying or also for stabilizing your position? Will you be carrying a ruck sack as well? Do you want to get the rifle quickly or does it matter?

if you're just looking for a plug and play solution, the two i find myself liking the most for a heavy rifle would be either the Blue force gear "Vickers" padded:

or the Viking Tactics Padded 2 point:

I like the viking a bit better myself, or if you don't mind doing some upgrades, or don't need the pad, the Strike industries sling is really nice for the money, below is one i upgraded with 550 cord.

something to keep in mind is the strike sling attatches via a loop of kevlar strand at either end, meaning you can get creative in securing it to the rifle, much like a "proctor sling" (but i've run both, and the strike is much nicer). i have found it to be very strong and it easily handled my 12ish LBS AR10 last hunting season. one caution I Would add though, is do not attach the kevlar loop dirrectly to a sharp machined edge, such as a lightening cut in a free-float handguard, though the kevlar loops are very strong, they CAN fray in that kind of a setup.

Good luck in finding what works for you.

the strike sling is 25-30$ and figure another 10$ for 550 cord,

I have a few Specter SOP 3 point slings which are in1.5" wide. I also have several Blackhawk 2 point slings which are very durable and inexpensive.

Anyone ever use a tactical scabbard? I plan on driving a lot on my ATV and then walking the rest of the way to set up and call yotes. I have used slings onnboltnactions and AR's and the hurt like heck bouncing around back there. So I was looking at scabbards. Got a 20" BB and Burris XTR. Any suggestions?

I will NEVER put my gun in a scabbard or rack on an atv no matter how much it may hurt.

Hold it or find a comfortable sling.

If riding I often sling it across my chest.

Even the scabbard you would wear across your back? Like this: https://www.amazon.com/VISM-NcStar-T.../dp/B005OAA9VG

Nope. When you said scabbard I thought of a plastic case mounted on the atv.

Wonder why you and I have the same little picture? Strange

The Magpul 2 point has been my favorite for awile now.. can't remember the name they use too many letters.. MS4 QD gen 2 or somwthing like that. Has the additional cup built in so you can go to a Single point with ease.

How are you folks generally attaching slings to the grendels. Stock Swivels, end plate loop or qd, rail mount swivels??

I like direct-weaving webbing to the gun, to reduce noise.

remember using a boot lace in Cambodia but it was not a grendel I was carrying. Noiseless and over the top of the ruck strap did not dig in noticably but then 90 lbs in the ruck rather made the M-16 negligible in weight

I use a couple slings from Rifles Only attached via flush cups. Less metal clanking around so it is quieter - but not as quiet as diddly's boot laces.

I also have a Eberlestock X-3 Lo Drag pack that has a built in scabbard. VERY comfortable!
