One short in a bag of brass...

This should be interesting. Ordered a hundred pieces of 6.5 Grendel brass from Alexander Arms and got...99. I was pretty careful - pulled straight from the bag to two 60 spot loading blocks. I sent AA an email with the lot number.

You'd think that weighing them would be pretty much spot on.

If you think every piece of brass weighs the same. I'm betting you have never weighed any.

      Same for projectiles.

        This.

when trying to wring every single bit of accuracy I can out of ammo, I weigh brass and select only the ones within a grain of each-other, and select projectiles that weigh the same to the 1/10th of a grain.

can brass weight effect accuracy? maybe, maybe not.. but the consistency of selecting similar brass surely can't hurt, right?

if they do it by weight i could easily see that 1 missing brass being accounted for by variance in the other brass.

Now THAT really is the question, isn't it?
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

I think LXP just coined a new phrase. Instead of saying someone is "not the sharpest tool in the shed" or "his elevator don't go to the top floor" I'm now gonna say "he's one piece short in a bag of brass."
