Bronco Boar - One More Berger Bullet Experience

    Video https://youtu.be/Uns37sD5Pio

The video covers the salient parts and y'all have seem Berger VLD-Hunting mayhem previously. This time there was a twist with a poorly place shot somewhere to the snout. I never really figured out where the bullet impacted or where it went. However, all the bones forward of the eyes were broken (left mandible in multiple places, right mandible, L and R premaxillas, L and R maxillas, L&R nasal bones) along with hard/soft palate damage, perforated tongue, partial tongue loss, and broken teeth.

The 2nd shot behind the shoulder passed between ribs, through the body, and exited through a rib on the opposite with a nickel-sized hole in the skin, but peeling back of the skin reveal a lot of tissue damage. Obviously, this wound produced considerable blood loss.

So much was the loss that the rump wound's entry about 8" forward on the hip did not reveal itself until the hog had been laid on that side for the better part of an hour. The exit wound was huge, just a tad smaller than a baseball when I pulled back the hide hanging over it. No closeup there as it had ruptured the bowel.

Snout shots are not good. That wasn't my intent, but that is what happened. I am just glad I got a 2nd shot at him. At my place, that likely would not have been the case.

He paid it out in blood letting. On the rear rump shot, he was dry! Pumping like a fire hose !~ From the chest shot.

No guilt upon the snout shot. Things occur, can't be controlled. Awesome that you recovered the beast.

    Tasty? or no?

Tasty? That would be a question for the coyotes and turkey buzzards. The boar was donated back to nature.
