Saw a comment from someone at SGAMMO that claimed PRVI was getting out of Grendel. Seems unlikely, but dies anyone have any concrete information either way?
Rumor- PRVI dropping their Grendel loads?

There was a 6.8 guy over on AR15.com gloating about this as well. I have no solid info.
First ammo maker to offer something like a 6.5mm 100gr Fusion or a 6.5mm 90-95gr GMX will clean up. You want to sell ammo, make what will sell. Is it that complicated?:: 6.5 GRENDEL Deer and Targets :: 6mmARC Targets and Varmints and Deer :: 22 ARC Varmints and Targets

May I speculate that Privi has been notified something to the effect that per sami the 6.5 Grendel is specified as propelled by a small rifle primer. Suppose all Sami testing has been done w a small rifle primer. If they wish to continue to market there 6.5 Grendel ammo in the US or with Sami aproval they will need to comply?
What type of primer is the wolf steel case using?
Lapua makes brass for the 308 w a non standard small rifle primer pocket. Do they sell ammo with the Small rifle primer pocket for the 308?

Hmm. So, there seems to be a Serbian connection.
Added to the 6.5 Grendel Wiki under "Army and Police Uses" in July of this year. The addition was by "Loes from Orion", who appears to have some insight on things Serbian.
Serbia is in process of adopting rifle made by [[Zastava Arms]] in 6.5 mm Grendel caliber as main armament for its armed forces. USA manufactured rifle in 6.5mm Grendel caliber will also be adopted in armament for special forces units after it passes testing in [[Technical Testing Center]]. Three types of 6.5mm Grendel ammunition produced by Prvi Partizan Uzice Serbia will be tested for use with this rifles.

They are well trained in the protection, preservation and defense of our country. In addition, they showed and equipment, the latest gun 5.65 mm and 6.5 mm, it is the new American caliber, the new American modular rifle that would be the end of March should be introduced in the armament of the brigade, said Vučić.Last edited by NugginFutz; 08-27-2016, 08:45 PM.If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

And so the plot thickens. Very possibly there's a "cunning master plan" afoot. Very interesting. . . .
So am I piecing it together correctly that Serbian regulars and special forces are seriously thinking about chambering an AK variant in 6.5 Grendel using three small-primer loadings of 65G from PRVI, knowing also that the Russian War Machine via Barnaul is mass-producing steel-cased 6.5 Grendel? IIRC, Russia and Serbia continue to have close ties. Adds to the depth of the plot...shootersnotes.com

Originally posted by SGAmmoNo, per the importer gun manufacturers have made 4 dimensional changes in the 6.5G chamber since the round was introduced. Prvi made their ammo to the original spec and it works fine in the original spec guns but some of the newer barrels have problems with it. I am pretty sure they are exiting that caliber and just don't want to deal with making it if the gun builders are not staying uniform in the chamber specs

MXMJ, kinda doesn't make sense to me. If they manufacture to SAAMI (or CIP in Europe as the case may be) how is there an issue?
It is also the responsibility of barrel makers to manufacture to SAAMI chambers for SAAMI ammo. Isn't that the whole point?:: 6.5 GRENDEL Deer and Targets :: 6mmARC Targets and Varmints and Deer :: 22 ARC Varmints and Targets

So..Lets let me do the math. The Serbs are "testing" the Grendel to see if it meets Serbian Army requirements.. Serbia has an army 13,000 men strong. A good tooth to tail ratio would be 1 in 10 shooters. That means a requirement of around 1300 rifles+ spares+breakage. Maybe 1/3 of those go to the range every year-call it 350 rifles. Maybe 2k rounds a rifle shot up at the range.
So 350x2000=750,000 rounds expended/year by Serbia. None of witch tells me why we would cut off from ammo..
