    143gr ELD-X and 123gr SST's with LeverEvolution.

Special thanks goes to Glock357 as he gave me some 143gr ELD-X bullets for this test.

20" BHW Barrel 1:8 twist using PPU brass
First up 143gr ELD-X with 28.5grs. Of Leverevelotion. CCI LR primers COAL 2.260" web after sizing 0.339/0.3395
    15' from muzzle
    2,281 fps
    2,281 fps
    2,284 fps
    2,300 fps
    2,305 fps
Web was 0.440 on all 5 cases. Accuracy was not so good 2" @ 100 yards

Second test with the 143gr ELD-X.
Was 29grs of Leverevelotion CCI LR primers COAL 2.260"
    15' from the muzzle
    2,340 fps
    2,351 fps
    2,380 fps
    2,400 fps
    2,338 fps
Web 0.441 accuracy was 1.6" @ 100 yards not good again.
I'll test some more with the 143gr ELD-X but, for now I will have to stick with my 123gr SST's.

I also did some fine tuning of my go-to load. A 123gr SST with 32.3grs of Leverevelotion with Magtech LR primers COAL 2.250"

    2,650 fps
    2,653 fps
    2,653 fps
    2,656 fps
2,653 fps suprised at the tight numers.
Web on all brass was .0441 accuracy was .750" @ 100 yards

I was shooting the same 32.3gr load with a COAL of 2.260"/2.280" average velocity was 2,610 fps

Impressed with velocity for 20", and primers still have rounded edges?

What was your temp and elevation, cuz it looks like you're on to something?

Didn't realize how much velocity a person gains with a bolt gun. Just finished a Grendel boltie and was doing some load development. With 32.5 grains of Leverevolution under a 123 Nosler CC at 2.30, I was getting an average of 2863 over a Magnetospeed. Went up to 33 gn., and was getting 2920, with no obvious pressure signs.

OK, that does it, I'm gettin' me some LVR. There is seriously SOMETHING there. Why hasn't the Horde really wrung this powder out before now?

Those velocity numbers are in line with bwild97's data in the handbook.

                  32.5 gr gave 2740 from a 24" tube

Some of us contacted the Hodgdon ballisticians for advice on LeverEvolution in the Grendel. They did not encourage it because they saw that the powder does not work well in all cartridges. It may have been, possibly still is, a liability issue.

The consistently positive reports I have seen, however, suggest a revisit of that question among ourselves and with Hodgdon.

I just hope they keep making it. I am going to try it in my 7mmBR XP-100 just to see what it will do.

I've been running LVR in my .264 LBC for almost four years. I was very active here as Nimrod but have been gone for a couple years. My sweet spot is 31.8 grn LVR I front of a magnum primer. Shoots 123gr AMAX, 123gr SST, and 120 gr Nosler ballistic tips almost to the same point of impact. I can put em all inside a clay pigeon at 500 yards. I've recently moved from Alaska to Kansas though so I am somewhat concerned about temperature stability for my go to load as it gets very hot here.

I've got three 500 yard kills on Kodiak Blacktails with the ballistic tips.

                          20" barrel.

I do, I actually have a ton of chrono info with lots of bullets with lots of different powders. I like bullets in the heavy end just so you know. With my pet load I am getting 2565 FPS. 123gr bullets.

I for some reason couldn't log in anymore as nimrod. But I will share anything I have. User beware.
