I believe the problem with RLGS arises when shooting unsuppressed. Attaching a can increases dwell time and in turn reliability.

I think that is why ODIN works went with an "Intermediate" length system. Off the top of my head I believe it's either +1" or +1.5" over midlength.

So it's good compromise for shooting suppressed/unsuppressed.

EDIT: for me, any more I shoot everything suppressed if possible. It's not even a "cool guy" thing....I have so very little hearing left that I do what ever I can to protect it. (shooting with a can still hurts for me and I wear plugs and muffs along with a can)

Mine arrived yesterday!! Very cool! I hope it shoots as well as the first edition Faxon 16" I have. Unfortunately, it'll have to go to the parts pile until spring when I'll get time to do something with it.

Is there anybody with a range report on these barrels yet? It looks like a good deal. Thanks

Only been to the range once with it. Barely sub MOA with hornady SST. I have not tried black yet, and have not fully broke in the barrel yet. I did take it hunting. Killed two hogs. First at 278 yards, second over 300.

Just in case those hogs learn how to shoot back

I had actually thought of posting something similar...LOL.

I have seen someone mention once about taking the flash away from the upward direction, so it did not blind their night vision. I have not had that problem yet.

I angled mine up so it would blow less dirt if I am shooting prone. May turn it if I have issues at night and see the difference.

How many do you have left now? I'm building one for next hunting season. I have all the lower parts except a trigger. I was going to wait a while and work the sales on the upper parts, but this barrel seems like a good fit and value. What would be comparable? I've looked at the AA 18" Lite barrel ($195) and the Faxon 18" Big Gunner ($217 at Optics Planet). I have a BA barrel in .223 Wylde that shoots great, but their Grendel barrels are all close to $300.
