    Gas block question

Working on my second build and using the group buy Faxon 16" barrel. Do y'all think I would need an adjustable gas block? Could I get away with a normal block? I plan on using a rifle length A1/A2 buffer on this build.

My previous build used a JP SCS and SLR adjustable low profile block.

Funds are a little tighter on this build but I'd probably do another SLR if I needed an adjustable.

    What say ye?

With money being a bit tight, I'd get a BTE Adjustable. At prices comparable to some non-adjustable GB's, you can get either a set screw or clamp on, in various styles for whatever your gas needs may be.
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

I appreciate your responses. I ended up answering my own question, just was looking for confirmation.

Ended up ordering an Odin adjustable clamp on, nitrided stainless. Found it for just under $100 with free shipping from http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/. Picked up the Spikes tactical nitrided gas tube as well.

ALG Defense handguard ordered last week.

Nitrided BCG from https://www.deltateamtactical.com/ for $85 I got last week. That'll give me a spare 5.56 bolt and I already have an AA and PF bolt so one of those will go here.

Stripped upper I picked up earlier this year for about $45 from http://shop.masdefense.com/main.sc

That will complete my upper except for thread protector.

I have on hand an AP lightweight scope mount and a Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8 which will meet my needs for a close to mid-range hunting rifle.

Have an Anderson stripped lower sitting in the safe from 2 years ago. Have plans for Magpul MOE rifle length fixed stock and MOE+ pistol grip.

Next few weeks will see that and a LPK. Still deciding on trigger. I have a Velocity 3# single stage in my first Grendel. Not sure what I'm putting in here.

Once it's together and reliably functioning, it will likely get an ArMr2 mag lock to stay "NY compliant".
