Either the A-Max is overstated and Hornady never bothered to fix the listed G1, or they are the same with .506 being closer to reality...which?
Litz put the 123gr AMAX at .468 G1 BC and I think it's that way on JBM.

129gr SST is higher than Hornady stated too, at .495 G1 vs .485, which makes sense when you look at the 2 side-by-side.

For those interested, Powder Valley has the 123gr AMAX listed as in stock. I got a couple boxes last week.

I just checked both JBM Ballistics online calculator and Ballistic AE...both show 123 A-Max as G1=.510

(Ballistic AE also shows 123 ELD-M=.506; it is up to date)

        Where is the Litz data?

I'm guessing BF16's theory is correct: AMax BC was a touch optimistic and never bothered to fix, while ELD is tested and up-to-date.

Holy crap on a biscuit! All of the new Hornady at Midway are >$30 a box! Looks like I'm going back to .223 for my casual shooting. 30+ cents a bullet is getting ridiculous.

Sportsmans Warehouse had 123 AMAX marked down to $19.95 but they were out.

123gr ELD-M can be had for $15.69box of 20. You can pull more .223 barrels and replace now.

Are you talking about loaded ammo here? Where can you get it for $15.69 a box? Do tell.

Just did thanks. The price of this ammo is making this round even more appealing.

                        Quote-
"She did say that if they decide to add that bullet to the ELD line then the A-Max version would most likely be discontinued then but as of now she didn't know of plans for that to happen"

Guess that means it's discontinued then.
