    210lb River Boar

I haven't done much hunting with my Grendel this fall/winter, but did take it out to west Texas this weekend. Hunting off a cliff on the south side of the Colorado river, I sat for exactly 3 hours seeing only 2 coyotes that were between 300-400 yards out.

The last few minutes of daylight I hear limbs cracking below the cliff. Then I hear splashing in the river. Hands on the rifle, and eyes trained in the direction of the sound, I see a boar emerge almost directly across from me on the north side of the river. He's slightly quartering away at 70 yards and partially obscured by a small mesquite tree. Thankfully with the Trijicon's illuminated reticle he's easy to make out and I let loose one 120gr TTSX. I watched him run approx 50 yards paralleling the river then fold and flop.

He was a young, but very healthy boar. Taped out to 210lbs. Always impressed with the Grendel and this JP Enterprise rifle it's chambered in.

Wow, that is one ugly hog. I have a skull mount of one that looked very similar. Going to try and eat him? I've shot hogs around Kerrville that were not eatable. I've found that deep East Texas hogs are very eatable, probably mostly domestic hogs now wild. I'm hunting around Mason / Llano now and have found them to be great.

Good shooting, I have a similar picture with my Grendel:

Where about in West Texas out of curiosity. I'm actually along the Colorado myself(Central Texas though). That's where I took the one in my picture

        81P,
        Nice writeup. Nice hog.

What is the length of your barrel w/o the suppressor? Just curious.
