    The tip is the only thing changed on the actual bullet. The difference in BC is that Hornady is now using Doplar radar to verify the BC so this one is actually accurate. There has been alot of debate as to what the actual BC of the AMAX was and the melting of the tips while the bullet is in flight. I actually read an interesting release from Hornady last week that basically said the melting of the tips had less to do with velocity and more to do with time of flight. These new tips on the ELD wont melt.

    Also I mentioned in my previous post on this thread that I would have muzzle velocity numbers for my 20" barrel. It averaged out 2515 fps and the SD was around 12-15 fps, I havent had time to actually sit down and calculate the SD yet.

      Anyone notice the eld powder burns dirtier than the Amax and sst ? Also I forsee Hornady putting the heat resistant tip on the sst and calling it eld X
