Von, if your hares as same size as a small deer there? What do they weigh? We have 2 lb. rabbits here ,, and 200-300 lb whitetails here. Rarebit- rabbit-

It's sold as cut and cleaned here- wife won't eat it --ever. I'll buy a small amount and cook it. Just need a quality recipe. I'm the chef here. Thanks !

They are not the same size as a deer but the backstrap is quite big for the size of the hare and can be treated the same way as a small deer backstrap. They would usually have about three times the meat that a rabbit might have.

The simplest way to look at rabbit is to use any recipe you might use for chicken

Knife # 3 was the first one with buffalo horn scales so was pleased to get it completed, sharpened and ready to go. The sheath is done but will repace the carry strap with longer one this afternoon so it is slightly easier to get the belt through the loops.

Very nice, I like the lanyard hole in the handle. I'm going to show my wife this one, looks like a perfect shaped blade and the buff handle makes it. You are getting good at this

Thanks Thomas, been fun working through all the aspects of this new design. I have made a coupe of tweaks to the sheaths with the carry straps moved forward by the width of the strap and will round the bottom corner so it is more comfortable in the canted carry position.

I have made the final mod to the sheath for the safari knife with the square corner beign rounded off to make it more comfortable in the canted cross draw carry position.

I just got an order for another one Dan but with a cross draw sheath which will be another first for such a small knife.

Maybe install a small magnet in the sheath to help keep the scalpel from falling out ?

The sheath will be like this one from one of the knife forums so it has a little angle to the knife in the sheath so it is not likely to need another form of retention

Perfect, that was choice 2 on this. Magnets would still be a good backup choice for -many... ask if they think it may fall out. Trust me. Millennials.......Hee

Thanks Dan. I was having a conversation with the owner of another forum this morning as he has asked me to do a limited edition knife, exclusive to his forum with his forum logo on the knife handle and sheath so am busy with that design at the moment. Speaking of sharp, the new sharpening system I got recently makes sharp a new dimension.

I am really gratefull that you sugested this thread as it is giving me something to do going into the future other than the standard activities of hunting and making rifles stocks etc, gardening, firewood getting and the dozen and one other chores that are the every day responsibility of every homeowner. It is another very interesting and rewarding way to keep active both in mind and body and has opened a much wider view of knifemaking for me.
