Was wondering would a 2 or 3 grain over charge cause that or I heard that a crack in the case between the belt and the case head can cause this I shoot and reload for this rifle for 12 years but this is my first with this powder .
Had used RL19 previously switched only because last year powder has be hard to come by

            Guys:

Ten Ring is right. This isn't the place for a reloading question concerning a .300 Magnum. However, due to the nature of this failure, 'catastrophic', I will let the thread stay here in case others have an explanation.

Sorry did not want to step on toes but just want to know if it my mistake or a problem with the powder and manuals. And I figured shooters are shooters and reloaders are reloaders. Regardless of the shap or color of your chosen wepon.

Not stepping on toes. I want you to figure out why your blaster blew up. So, lets keep it open so others can assist.

I think you should send a picture of what ever is left of the rifle.

The 300WM case volume varies to such an extent between manufacturers that Quickload lists 5 different brands; as if they were different calibres altogether. The difference in case volume across brands means the difference between a dangerous overload, or OK/fine using your load (I ran a few simulations).

It would help if you were more specific. What is the manufacturer of your cases, what is the brand of your bullet and what was the overall length of the loaded round?
