Pretty sure their is only 5 ounces of difference between the two. Cut a standard to 20" and you are probably talking 2 or 3 ounces.

Matt has reported 5.7# for the 20" and 6# for the 22"
I ordered the 22" to allow for cutting down if the 4.8oz difference or length is a concern

This isn't SHOT-related, but very much pertains to Howa. I snagged my mini last month, and have gone shooting the last two weekends. Here's the feedback.

            1) An experienced shooter would like it as his next bolt gun.
            2) Two new adult shooters loved picking off fairly small targets from 100-200 yards. That sounds like nothing, but neither grew up with guns, and had never fired a bolt action before. The Grendel mini is super user friendly, even when rolling cheap Wolf through it.

Thanks to Legacy for bringing in a really fun gun.

Just got my 22" in and it is, by my scale, exactly 96oz!

                    Is there a link to the specifications to the three different 6.5 Grendel barrels( 20" #1, 22" #2, & 20" #6)?

I wonder why they chose 1:10 twist, I always thought 1:8 was the standard. Are they geared toward lighter varmint rounds?

                      EDIT: I was wrong, it's 1:8.

                        I hope the 10-twist is a misprint.

I believe all the Howa Grendels are 1/8 twist.......

I saw 1:10 somewhere, but according to their spec sheet it's 1:8. Crisis averted lol.

Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel definitely 1:8 twist and stabilizes the 155gr Lapua Mega's rather well, just at a rather sedate pace

Is there any chance in the future of doing away with the magazine and coming up with a hinged floor plate - say with a 3 round capacity?
