If anyone is interested in taking on a stock project similar, and I HIGHLY suggest it as the original "Hogue-like" stock just doesn't feel right when paired with the mini action, here is a run down of what you need.

    Bench mounted vice
    hacksaw
drill w/ drill bits (to mount the swivel stud)
a couple of large files and rasps (I have an old school one that is a 4 in one file/rasp combo)
    sander
epoxy (two part like jb weld. I used this to secure the end cap and front swivel stud)
sand paper (I think I started at 120, moved to 220, and finished with 300 something)
paint (primer, textured paint, final color paint..i used od green, and if you want webbing paint, oh and I used clear plasti-dip for the final coats).

I chose the green stock because on another forum I found where a member was also reshaping them and said the green stock had a better plastic quality (when compared to black).

Depending on which companies come out with aftermarket options (hoping for Manners or McMillan) I might buy a boyds and hack it up and see how much further I can push the envelope in reduction (maybe like the Kifaru rambling rifle)

For anyone interested the final weight with scope is 6lbs 4oz. With ammunition it is 6lbs 8oz. And don't use plasti-dip instead of clear coat

thats a pretty bloody good weight! is that with the 22" barrel?

with these little cartridges for a walk-around hunting rifle I prefer them to be light... If theyre the same weight as a normal hunting rifle I'd rather it chambered in a full powered cartridge instead (just a personal preference)

Nevermind, I've decided to keep it .

After some initial shooting at 100yds the gun shows potential as a hunting rifle. The first two rounds are always almost touching, however the third is always about an inch low. This is very repeatable. I think a bedding job and slower rate of fire would tighten the groups. I'll worry about the bedding on my next stock.

                Hey Hunter307,

If you're still thinking of getting the Pendleton can you please let me know when you're sending it off?

They need an action to make a mold from and they won't make one for me unless someone sends one in (i live in Australia)

The "Classic" stock has a straight comb.

I plan on hunting this year (sept. to jan) with my current stock to see if the rifle fits my needs. If I love it I'll send it off. This forum will be the first to know when I send it off and get it back.

I stretched the howas legs a bit today and tried out my new steel ops 12" gong. Very impressed by how hard the grendel hits out to 400yds. 300 was a chip shot, but need more practice at 400, especially in the wind.

Also I don't reload and don't think I'll start, what's a fair asking price for grendel brass per case?

                          I'll take it for $0.35!

But seriously $.50 is going rate. Used is the same as new apparently.
