    Nearly done 10.5 grendel

    Kak shockwave and tube
    Carbine buffer and spring
Mix match upper and lower parts
    Anderson recievers
    B5 handguard
    Danny Defense rear sight
Used fsb drilled and tapped with set screws
Anderson 6.5G barrel cut to 10.5
    FZ bcg
    Underground tactical bolt

Gas port is 0.070. Plan is to go shoot next week to check function. I expect to have to drill the port to .073-.078 per forum searches but i'm gonna sneak up on it so i dont have run too over gassed.

Most of this build was spare parts or parts bought on sale or as a deal. I have a fiberlite stock i'd like to put on it if i ever go sbr. Thinking it will be a good short distance deer gun for east texas.

    I like it! I built a 20" and a 12.5" Grendel...so a 10.5" would be too much overlap for me.

But I still want one lol.

Update: gun would cycle barely with the .070 gas port using wolf steel case. Drilled it out to .073 and it cycled three 17rd mags without issue and held open on last round. Carbine buffer btw and about 70 degree weather. Ejects at 3 oclock.

What did you thread it to and what muzzle device is that? Looks like a Ruger flash hider.

A guy pointed out to me that beyonet lugs are illegal on pistols. Given the barrel length you couldn't attach a standard beyonet on there anyway, but what do y'all say? I'm going to chop it off the fsb just to remove doubt but it seems stupid to me that it would be illegal. I haven't heard of many drive by stabbings lately.

Did you cut the barrel down yourself or use a service like ADCO/ local smith? I'd assume you have a drill press for the gas port?

Great build! I have a pair of 10.5" projects in the works right now. They're basically identical and pretty similar to yours. Waiting on a few more orders to fill. Hopefully they'll be complete and ready for a few pics by mid-April.

How do you like the 10.5" w/the Grendel? I have a few in 5.56 and have been very happy with them so I decided to take a leap w/the 6.5.

Machinist buddy of mine did the work. So far i like it alot more than i thought i would. I didn't think the 5.5 inches shorter would be a worth while, but I figured I'd give it a try. This is my lightweight kiss AR that i can deer hunt with at short range. Offsets the 16" with the new trijicon 1-8 scope quite nice. The 16" is quite a bit heavier now with that scope so the pistol makes a nice walking around gun.

Fyi gas port was done with a hand drill. I do have a drill press but the chuck would not go down small enough.

Probably only about 4-6 months and dropping now that they are near the end of the 41F push....
