    Let the build begin.

Ok, I am getting enough parts in now that I can see some forward progress.

Odin works 20" build kit with MLOK 15.5" hand guard, bcg, gas block, rifle length gas tube, barrel nut
    Anderson lower
    Hahn tactical(local) upper
    Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10
DPMS lower parts kit I had lying around

I think a different grip, upper parts and deciding on a stock, and I will be set. I will post a pic shortly.

FWIW on my first two AR's I have MIAD grips and A2 stocks. My Grendel is getting Danial Defense furniture (rubber tire tread-like texture)

Build looks good so far though!

I was really eyeballing the Daniels stuff. I am thinking of doing a Cerakote kryptek, so not sure how it would look. I really like Daniels milspec+ color.

It occurs to me that i haven't posted a finished shot of this rifle. Ditcher, no, i don't have the pattern. I had a local shop take care of the Cerakote for me. He did an awesome job. I'm happy to recommend him to anyone in the Northern Va, Eastern WV area.IMG_2351.JPGIMG_2353.JPG

Nice looking stick! How does the Odin Works barrel shoot? I have been looking those over for a bit.

Awesome looking rifle! My 16" Odin Works is one hell of a shooter with 123 ELD and 123 SST.

My Odin/DSA 16" upper I bought seems to be shooting pretty darn well also. Just recently had it out setting up their tune-able gas block, had a fud moment when I realized I had a H buffer in it instead of a regular carbine buffer. Haven't decided whether or not to swap buffers and re-tune as currently it drops casings in a nice pile about 8' away. It is nicely finished though for the most part. The gas block and barrel have a witness mark to align them together, mine though does seem ever so slightly canted or the rail is slightly canted as the block is a bit closer to one side of the inner edge of the rail, rail seems pretty darn square bwtn the upper receiver and the rail though.

I've only had it out for a short function check, can't say how well it shoots just yet. I will be sure to pop back in with a range report when I can.

WV, just something that occurred to me with your 3/22 picture posting. You actually have a 20" pistol in that picture, just thought I'd mention it in case you ever wanted to legally convert (pistol to rifle back to pistol), lol.

Point taken. I do find AR pistols interesting.....

I don't think that counts as a pistol bc it has no buffer. If the stock was added with the buffer I believe it is a rifle. Not to be a downer but this is a slippery slope. I am building an ar pistol so I'm trying to dot my t's and cross my i's with the build.
