What randy's browser is warning him of is that it is conceivable that your password could be sniffed by a bad actor / black hat hacker. As bj139 said, your posts are public, and so are already visible to all.

What is at risk is your personal profile information and other items posted behind your account, such as email addresses, phone numbers, PM's between you and other members, etc.

What is the likelihood of being compromised? Extremely low, I'd say. Of all the other juicy targets out there, it boggles the mind to believe this site would be considered a tempting target for any group of hackers.

As has been suggested, common-sense practices are all you should need. It has already been proven that there is no such thing as safe surfing (look at the last few data breaches to tell you that.)

To minimize the fallout in the event of a hack, don't put anything in the "cloud" that:
    • you wouldn't want a criminal to have,
    • would put the safety of loved ones at risk,
    • would cause law enforcement to knock on your door,
    • would make your mother mad

If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?
