    First foray into the fray

Figured I would check in. After years of cutting my teeth learning precision reloading and running bolt actions, I have resisted the AR platform like the plague. Well...low and behold, the 6.5G got my attention! After years of resisting the AR platform I (with a little coaxing from my brother-in-law) decided to jump into the fray head first.

      Welcome aboard.

I think the 6.5 Grendel is the early 20th Century go-to cartridge for the AR15 myself.

I first saw it as something exotic, unknown, and marginal.

My attitude towards it changed a lot since then, to say the least.

Welcome to the forum CMoney! Don't be surprised if this is not your only AR-15 in a few months.

Welcome to the dark side of "modern sporting rifles." Best you start making room for a bigger safe now!

Mark at PF warned me how quickly they seem to multiply...

Long time bolt gun hunter, and the Grendel in a lightweight AR15 has become my favorite mobile hunting package. Then I can still ring steel with authority out to 600+ yards all summer long with a 16" AR... It's only going to get better.
