Hello from the great North WET

Been lurking a bit over the last couple of years. Even tried to sign up a couple times but never made it this far. Finally I can participate fully on the site.

I hope to glean as much info as possible about the 6.5 grendel. I currently have 4 in the safe and #5 on the way. 4 of my builds are budget minded. Using less expensive parts. My 20" was with higher end components but still trying to keep the price reasonable. I have a 20, 2-16" and a 10.5" that all shoot great. The next one is 18" and am anxious to get it running. I think a will be introducing my son to the platform shortly. I have more than enough to go around. He needs a good birthday present.. What better than a couple ar15s.

Thanks for the great forum and info
I just hope I can add what little knowledge I have.

Welcome! You also need a 24" and a 30". This is the best forum to learn about Grendels and ARs in general

Welcome to the Horde, bldsmith. I see you've officially crossed over to the Dark Side. As some previous members just said, you're in good company here.

I'd like to observe that if anything makes the folks around here happy, it's the knowledge that a member is sharing the shooting sports with their kids. Please keep us informed on how your son receives your choice of the superior gift of AR15s.

Just remember this, though: the Horde loves its gun porn, so posting pictures of a build in progress is an excellent way to stimulate conversation and opinion.

If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I live in Salem Oregon. Long time ago I lived on Whidbey island, oak harbor.

Greetings, your title cracked me up as we just had a good gully washing the other day... TONS of lightning, they said there was an average of 43 strikes per minute. I haven't seen weather like that ever in Seattle. Just once before in a flash floods in Arizona they are very impressive.
Glad you're here, I bit off more than I could chew. I've been using one lower on three uppers for a while now and building six lowers now. Can't wait. Usually don't post pics until projects are done. Butt I'll post some atsome point.
