The brass is soft and the case head can take a beating if you don't dial your gas down enough. Nosler contracts out its brass manufacturing and whoever made the stuff for the rollout dropped the ball. Norma had historically made a lot of Nosler brass, but with RUAG seemingly buying up every nonUS based ammo manufacturer, who knows where it was made.

With the gassing, I started with my block where Odin told me they had the most success and I was getting ejector marks and even some small tears with the factory 77 gr ammo.Dialed it down and everything started coming out clean. The rebated case head is defiantly not a positive. Maybe they would have to pay royalties to Remington if they had used a necked down 6.8 case? Or Alexander if it was a necked down Grendel.? Or maybe the rebated head was to give it broader appeal. Basing off of the Grendel case would have allowed larger bullets, but then there would have been a sacrifice of velocity for smaller bullets. And I'm sure the company investing in the rollout sees a much bigger market for velocity.

I didn't think the Berger 75s would work. They are seated right at the ogive and the base sits deep, but they are laser beams out to 750. With a VG6 gamma, recoil is like a sharp 223 and sight picture barely budges.
    Let's go Brandon!

I'm not sure as I didn't research pencil barrels.

This is what my 16" Odin Works ultralite grouped like at 750 yards. Three were pretty tight, even with the 4th shot its still very respectable. It's shoots very consistent, and the barrel profile doesn't seem to hinder accuracy as much as I thought it would. Now I'm sure a heavy profile could do better longer, but I'm pretty damn pleased with this kit. Even at 810 yards it was shooting drama free.
Nice shooting! I hope mine will come close to that

Well it's 26oz and seems to have a nice taper from the nut to the gas block, which seems a bit thicker than my pencil FN barrels and more than several ounces heavier.

As soon as I clean up the old20" bull I'll take some pics and put it up for sale

Good for you, mine is still traveling across the country side. Have my doubts that it will arrive tomorrow but we will see as it was in Tennessee this early morning, lol.

Give you guys something to look foward to! A three shot group at 100 yards today with the 123 ELD over 8208 and CCI 450 going 2450. Every time I take the 16" ultralite out I'm impressed.

A groundhog at 100 yards that popped out.... 123 ELD showed some explosive expansion.

My upper did arrive yesterday surprisingly and of course I un-boxed it and gave it it's first good cleaning and inspection. Dropped an Amax and a Wolf shell into the chamber a gave them a good push with my finger to seat, tipped the muzzle up and they slid right out. Then tried again and give a decent tap from a wooden dowel, the Amax needed a slight tap on the back of the receiver to drop out while the Wolf just dropped out. Manually cycled a few rounds and no signs of any markings on either brands from the rifling.

Found a slight fitment issue with my 17 rd Elander as it seemed to want to rock front to back a bit more than my liking on the lower I wanted to pair this upper with being a PSA, so I tried another PSA. The same rocking occurred, tried an Anderson and it was the same as the others. So I relented and tried my blem Noveske and what do you know almost a perfect fit and I really wasn't planning on using the Noveske for this upper but it seemed to win the spot, lol. Go figure my couple of 10 rd Elanders fit all the lowers about perfect.

Upper to lower fit was perfect with no wobble, but I did notice when I shotgunned the upper open that I felt just a touch of binding in the pivot area that I need to take a closer look at but really isn't a concern. Now to decide on the scope which I have on hand that are Nikon's, torn between the Monarch 3-9x40 or Pro-staff 2-7 and having trouble deciding as primarily this is going to be hunting rig in fairly thick coverage with an occasional longer shot available.

Happy of over all and will see what it does today.

Tips the scales at 7lbs with empty mag.

First five shots are at 50yds under less than optimal bench conditions. Hornady factory A-max.
I didn't measure but looks like about .75-1.0"
