I am testing out a new scope and got it sighted in on my daughter's rifle. My first time hunting with the scope and after a long night of stalking around various localities, I finally saw a hog in a field and made a 300 yard stalk on it and it was gone. However, a coyote came out of the woods and I thought I would go after him, but then spied what I thought was my hog way off to the north. I headed his direction and came across a second hog in a clearing that had not been there 10 minutes prior when I walked by that area. Given the prevailing winds, he became the primary target and he turned out to be a tripod, missing most of his left, rear leg. Shot #1 punched through a lung and circulatory plumbing and got trapped under the skin on the opposite side, the bullet holding together fairly well. Shot #4 was the 2nd his and entered his bottom. I opted not to search for that bullet, not wanting to deal with ruptured intestines...
