30.4 gr 8208 at 2.200 coal shoots the lights out in my 16" tube. Just under 2700 fps. That's. 4gr from max so I would recommend working up to it.

31 grains of IMR 8208 is the both accurate and fast, over 2850 fps. (chronied) out of my 18" .264 LBC BHW. This load is safe in my rifle.

            That's a good load 6.8 klr , I usually shoot 30 gr of Benchmark behind a 100 gr Amax and get 2750-2800 fps out my 20" Liberty/Saturn

I average about 2630 fps in my bhw barrel with 29.7 of 8208 can cover the 5 shots with a dime.

Those loads sound interesting,I must try them.I just recieved my Howa HB 20 inch.It has the green stock.I need to get a scope and rings&bases yet.On the way is 100 Lapua brass,Hornady dies and shell holder and a couple boxes of 100 gr.AMax bullets.I am hoping to get 2750fps or better.I have some other powders to try out but I would like to start with a powder that gives best velocity and accuracy.

I put them over 34 grains of CFE 223 and it is giving me 2940-2950 out of a 22 inch barrel.

You got the speed but what kind of accuracy with this load? When I tried pushing CFE with the 100's it opened up to 1- 1 1/2 inch apposed to .3 with the slower speed & 8208

Everything I have shot out of my rifle has grouped an inch or less when I do my part.

I found a pound of IMR8208 when I was in the city.Maybe my brass and dies and bullets show up at the post office tomorrow afternoon so I can load some shells.

My components arrived in the mail.I loaded up 20 rounds using 28 grs. of IMR 8208 XBR ,Rem 7 1/2 primer and a 100 GR.AMax bullet,2.245" COL.I decided to use the break in procedure for my Howa mini recomended in the instruction pamphlet that came with the rifle.Fire one round then clean the barrel until patches come out clean then do that ten times, then fire two rounds and clean 5 more times.I don't know if it makes any difference or not but I enjoyed a leisurley afternoon in my lower field doin' some shootin' and lots of cleaning.I needed 20 shots. They only recommend factory loads which I don't have.I was happy as I sighted in at the time of breaking in.At 100 yds.my 8th,9th and 10th shots printed a nice tight group a little less than 3/4" in the bull. The next 10 shots I fired at a playing card. All 10 on the lower half of the card. Now it is time to develop a load.https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...dlZVBXVFNlT0VR

I started my load development useing all the same components except the powder charge was increased a half grain each 3 shots.Starting at 28.5 working up to 31 grs.All rounds ejected easily with no flattened primers etc.At 30 grs. a nice tight little group. At 31 grs. a small fly flew into my eye as I was squeezing my last shot off.I will shoot that group over and varify the 30 gr.group with some more shootin'.https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...dlZVBXVFNlT0VR

After shooting over my little crony the 30 gr. load averaged 2780 fps and the 31 gr. load averaged 2865 fps.The 31 gr. of IMR 8208 load shoots almost as good as the 28 gr.load.I think I'll try playing with the seating depth on the faster load and see if it will match the lighter load.I am surprised to get over 2850 fps with this combination.
