    ARP Superbolt

Is anyone using the Superbolt, and if so how do you like it?

Had one in my 7.62x39 at pistol, and one for my in progress grendel build with his 18 inch SPR barrel.
It's pretty freaking legit. Noticeably beefier than normal bolts.

Curious how it could be "beefier" and still fit a standard extension and carrier?

Exactly what I was wondering. I don't trust anything coming from that clown that owns ARP.

I too have one in a bolt and barrel combination I purchased from ARP. I have had no issues with it or the barrel. I do prefer a radius over a right angle to negate stress risers. I also run one of the larger 800 Series bolts on my 450 Bushmaster, although I don't know if they are still available.

    What's the ARP hate?
All my barrels from them have shot very, very well. He has answered all my questions in a timely and polite manner, his products are reasonably priced, and shipping was quick.

    I don't get the hate?

Use the search function for more on that. Too much to cover in a single reply. Bottom line is the person in question has been banned from this site, as well as from ARFCOM multiple times for treating some unhappy customers pretty poorly. The behavior in question involved posting personal information on that forum as a form of retaliation. He's also, until very recently, maintained a dedicated "hate page" on his company website for one of this boards long time and highly respected members. In short, he's been a bit of a jerk.

I have to agree with y'all, a very untrustworthy person, says one thing does another. Personally I don't care if he's the only frog in the pond I'll never spend another dime of my $$$ for anything he sells. Lots of barrels shoot sub MOA groups.

When you add in his shipping fees it goes over that amount and I'm looking at a Grendel barrel right now for $235 and free shipping that IMO is better. The BA barrels are on sale with free shipping that come in under $200, so yes there are options out there that are just as good if not better.

And then there are our own group buys, need I go on?

Until he's not. Look, I'm sure there are plenty of customers who have no issues with him. Has to be true, or he'd be out of business. At the same time, this "nice guy" is on record, berating and insulting his own customers, in open forums. There are more than enough documented cases where he's gone off on people for not being perfect customers or for having the unmitigated gall of disagreeing with him.

So, yes, Mrs. Dahmer. Your son Jeffery is certainly well behaved around the house, isn't he?

So it is a personality issue and not a product issue is what I am hearing.

Yes a PI for sure similar to man with several faces, though I witnessed a bad chamber that would have been identified by just dropping a round into it, but hey that happens. I wish him well...
