First Hunts w Fed Berger Hybrid OTM 130 gr., Kynshot Hydraulic Buffer, E-Lander Mags

Actually, this was field testing for not just the ammo, but for a Kynshot hydraulic buffer and E-Lander magazines. The ammo proved to be sub MOA accurate from my rifle, no problem. Terminal performance would be better if I could shoot better. Sheesh. The recovered hog was small, but the Berger Hybrid OTM certainly did a lot of damage to it. It was apparent that the round opened up well. Don't know how it would have done on a much larger hog, but the initial hog here is promising and the hog in part 2 (terminal performance not discussed there) also showed similar wounding, but again, a smaller hog.

The E-Lander mags (2) both performed terrifically. I think I will have to buy some more.

The Kynshot hydraulic buffer was suggested to me by a buddy who helps me with accessorizing my rifles. He has been trying for over a year to get me to try running one of these. I finally relented and bought one. I won't say that it will change your world, but it does a fantastic job of taking the sharpness away from the recoil. In the process, it does slow the BCG speed slightly, but generally speaking this does not affect performance (I am told). I had no problems with cycling after adding this buffer. As with the E-Lander mags, I think I may need to get another one or two.

Here is the video. Part 2 will be added when I finish editing.

You are the man!! As with your other videos and posts, I'm going to be following them closely. Very very interested on how these perform on a large Hog.

And here is part 2. It was a slow night and challenging. I had to laugh about the coyote incident, three guys set up in 3 directions, and while I watched one, another ran right under my nose and was picked up by another shooter.

DNS, I'm green with envy. I wish we could hunt around here at night. TN will not allow night hunting. As far as hogs I would have to drive about 1 hr 45 min to even see hogs and this is on a state management area where you can only hunt very limited days. Keep up the videos. I really enjoy them. Going to try the Bergers soon.. Thanks Again..

DNS, thanks for the videos. I just picked up a box of the Fed/ Bergers but have not found the time to shoot them yet. What is your overall opinion of the performance from the Berger bullet. No hogs around here just yotes and deer.

I need to get them out on some solitary hunts where I have time to stop and open up each animal shot and examine the damage. On the smaller hogs, they performed well enough, but I don't think smaller hogs are a good standard for assessment. I will switch back to Berger Hybrid OTM for my next couple of hunts and see what occurs.

Coyotes are really sneaky even in broad daylight. I'm always amazed at what they can do. Btw I always enjoy your videos.
