based on the other offerings on the website the heavey barrel version has HB in the title so i assume this is the light barrel but that price is hard to say no to....

I agree. I paid only 25% more for mine. Its hard reading that some folks have paid over $600 for theirs, HB or not, that's price gouging.

From the Legacy website the # is for mini rifle, 20" #1 contour barrel... HMA30603+.
The heavy barrel is # HMA90623+, again the green stock, 20" #6 contour.

No this is the light weight versions with a pencil neck barrel.

You can tell by looking at the model number, in this case 30603. Howa's light weight versions all start with a 3, their standard versions start with a 6, and their heavy barrel version start with a 9.

Has anybody shot the light weight barrels? If so, how did they shoot? Can't buy a good barrel and bolt on an AR for that price. Still would like to have the heavy barrel. rickt300, if interested in selling your hb contact me and see if we can work out something.

Not a lot of demand for the light barreled guns. The HB Mini is a good bit more in demand thus the higher prices for them.

Truthfully the Heavy barrel version is not that heavy overall.

I bought the green, standard model lightweight a couple months ago. Broke the barrel in per recommendations. Barrel gets really hot after you put five down the pipe! With 27.5 grains of Tac and a re-swaged .257 117 grain pill, mine will keep 'em in a half inch all day long!!!

I just received my SECOND Grendel bolt today from Whittaker Guns. THANKS MAT AT LSI FOR BOBBING OFF THE MAGAZINE RELEASE!!. On my first 22 inch bollt Grendel, also in Green, had to take the dremel to it to shorten it. You WOULD GO GRAB THE GUN JUST IN FRONT OF THE MAGAZINE AND YOU'D BE SITTIN THERE WONDERING WHAT JUST BOUNCED OFF YOUR FOOT! Thanks Again Matt!!!
