I just received my SECOND Grendel bolt today from Whittaker Guns. THANKS MAT AT LSI FOR BOBBING OFF THE MAGAZINE RELEASE!!. On my first 22 inch bollt Grendel, also in Green, had to take the dremel to it to shorten it. You WOULD GO GRAB THE GUN JUST IN FRONT OF THE MAGAZINE AND YOU'D BE SITTIN THERE WONDERING WHAT JUST BOUNCED OFF YOUR FOOT! Thanks Again Matt!!!

Yes, how much did you shorten the lever?

I shortened mine to just under 1/4 inch. Much better.

I pulled the mag release in until the magazine dropped, and marked it with a pencil. I cut it off just in front of that line, rounded the corners, smoothed it up, and now it is perfect.
I think it was designed with the intention of someone shooting it prone at targets and changing magazines, not carried as a hunting rifle.
