Bear Creek side-charge BCG has no fwd-assist grooves but otherwise is normal except for a tapped hole in the side. I'm sure it would work in a normal receiver.

No. I have the BCA side charger and this ambi charger.
Each have a plug at the back where the charging handle would stick out.
I suppose if you were a machinist it could be made to work.

Hmm... do I want to play machinist?

I just realized I misread this question.
I thought you meant the receiver.
The BCG should fit fine in a standard receiver as Randy said, with the handles unscrewed.
Still the question popped into my mind, can I fit a charging handle in this receiver with a Dremel?
      I will take a look.

This is my 20" Group Buy barrel with a charging handle on each side.

If you enlarge the photo you can see the Lead Sled right through the receiver.
The receiver is thicker to compensate for the reduced strength of the cuts.
I just bought one of the side charging NiB LAR BCGs from them. $75 shipped? Why not?

I've always liked the idea of a side charger. Think I'm going to have to get one.

          Very nice rifle, enjoy
