    Need a Thread Protector

Having never used a thread protector I figured I would ask you guys before picking a couple up.

What would you fellas recommend for 5/8-24 threads? I have two barrels, ARP 18" 6.8 and an ARP 20" 6mm Predator (Grendel based), that I need something to protect the threads while working up loads. After the best loads are found, I plan on attaching the AAC flash hiders and switching to suppressed.

Any information, would be most appreciated,

Why not just put your flash hiders on now?

Basically, I would like to test the barrels without any devices on the end to see if accuracy changes with the flash hiders. It is nothing more than a simple curiosity of mine.

      Cheers!

Look at your local gun store, there's one that ought to have some 5/8-24's, get the stainless ones... either white ss or blackened... I did that but also got a couple online. Midway, Midsouth, lots of choices. Haven't had any prob's with any of them. Don't need to torque the thread protectors IMO.

Thank you all for the information.

I'll check those recommendations out and go from there.

            Cheers!
