Precision Firearms Ammo put on hold

Until Further Notice 6.5 Grendel Ammo manufacturing has been put on hold. Too many headaches and not enough profit in it to justify making it for the time being.

raise the price, narrow the selection..... your profits will go up, the orders will go down..... less head-ache

That's too bad. The ammo I got from Precision has been some of the best I've tried. Bummer.

Might be an answer but there are pitfalls there too.

also would simplify the stocked line 1 match round, 1 lead free hunting, 1 leaded hunting round what ever sells best for each category and if they want something else maybe consider a custom load order option with a set min rd count what ever makes it worth wile for your time

This.... And I would personally request the 129 ABLR as a standard load due to its low expansion velocity. I know I was planning to stock up for use with my 12" build when it came back in stock.

Just out of curiosity why more headaches over any other round you carry? Is it more expensive to produce than most, thus lower margins?

Right now I cant find Lapua brass except at full retail!

Also it by far far far the most popular ammo we make. I dont make much 223 ammo at all!

Will the previous ammo orders be filled before stopping production? I've been waiting for 129 ablr for a while now.

There was a previous post about Starline introducing Grendel brass. It 's not Lapua but if was capable of consistent accuracy, it might be profitable.

    Would you consider Hornady brass?

It's great brass, and would bring the price down. I sure miss the days when we were getting Lapua brass for $66/100.

For dedicated hunting loads, I would be perfectly fine with possibly losing hornady brass as opposed to lapua.....

I vote Hornady brass, Midsouth shooters supply sell boxes of 3000 pieces of brass for $.465 each. They even have the bags of 100 on sale for that price.

Please keep making the 123 Match ammo; just charge more. The barrel I got from you "loves" it.

He posted on FB that he was going to raise the cost a bit and still continue making ammo. I just placed an order for 129 ABLR's a couple days ago.

I hope your not in a hurry for those 129 ablr's. I've been waiting on my order over a month now.
