    AA Barrels

To those of you that are using the Alexander Arms barrels, how do you like them?

I am thinking of ordering one.

My old man has an 18" lite AA barrel and I've been very impressed. It shoots every bullet and load we have tried 1 moa from a bench.

The best loads are easily sub moa, and the worst are hovering just over 1 moa.

I'm an open Odin fanboy. But even my Odin Barrels will favor certain bullets/loads alot more than his AA. Mine will shoot it's favorite combos sub moa, wile the ones it doesnt like can go anywhere from 1.5-2 moa.

AA gets my puny insignificant stamp of aproval.

Built my wife one using the 16" fluted and I like it better than the two I built for myself. Very accurate.

I have three 16" AA barrels and all shoot well. Only negative i have found is hornady black jamming the lands on at least 2 out of the three. Third one is undetermined since i quit the black. Not sure if it's AAs fault or hornady but just an observation. Sst and wolf shoot great.

My 16" fluted will consistently shoot .75 or less with the Hornady SST factory ammo. I haven't tried the black yet. Wolf steel case runs flawlessly with ~2" groups.

It's plenty accurate and light enough as my hunting rifle.

These are the kind of things that I am wanting to find out, especially things like factory ammo jamming the lands...

Thank you gentlemen, I want to get all the information I can.

I have 2 of 'em and have built 2 others with AA's and can't say enoughgood about 'em. Would recommend 'em without hesitation.

They have too long a lead time for the stainless fluted that I wanted, so I bought the melonited 16" upper kit. Hundred bucks more but comes with gas tube and block and assembled upper and charge handle, bet I don't get any sweetness tonight, too bad.

They had a run that had short chambers. If you call AA and tell them about this they will make it right.

Seems like that happens a lot lately.

My 18" fluted AA had a short chamber, AA fixed it and it shoots really well now.

My 18" fluted stays well below 1" with A-Max, and is solid with Wolf. Don't think I've ever measured a group with it, as I use it to plink steel.

I own 2 AA tubes- 1 is actually for sale- 16". Pm me if interested. They shoot just fine.

16" is set up for short range hunts.
