    First Grendel

Hi all, new Grendel owner from North Dakota. Besides a bipod and sling, I think I'm finally done. This rifle is actually going to be a 25 year anniversary gift to my parents in June, but I figured I could use it as an excuse to build a new rifle and figure out exactly what I want in my personal Grendel that I'll build next. Between work and bad weather, I haven't had time to shoot it yet, but when I do, I'll report back here. The lower is an Anderson with RRA 2 stage I've had in the parts bin for a while. The upper is a 22" fluted upper from Grendelhunter. The scope is a demo Viper 6.5-20 from cameralandny (thanks to reading here) with a Warne 20 MOA mount. As sits, with a loaded 4 round mag, it weighs right at 10 pounds. Hopefully it's a good shooter, and I look forward to getting in the Grendel game.

She looks pretty. How did you like that stock? I'm looking at the one without the battery compartments.

I like it a lot. Nice and solid, and helps make the rifle feel more balanced. It's my first locking stock, so I can't compare it to any others, but I can't find anything I don't like about it.

Smitty79 - very nice job! What is the muzzle device on it? Or is it machined into the barrel?

Thanks for the kind words. Still haven't been able to shoot it yet. Six inches of snow, thirty mph winds, and fifteen degrees don't make for good sight in weather. Hope this week is a little better.
just_john, I currently just have a thread protector on there from Grendelhunter. I think I will leave it on for now unless I decide I need something else. I like that it doesn't add length or weight on the end.
