I finished my Grendel build not too long ago and recently built my dad a 5.56. However, I've done both of this without some of the proper tools, and I'm planning on building a ton more, whether for me or some buddies, and would like to start assembling a better gun tool kit. To start, I'm looking for a good set of roll pin punches and starter punches. What says the horde?

Look at Wheeler Engineering. Decent tools for decent price. I think they have a starting armorers kit for $150.00. They have higher priced ones but it depends on what you need.
If you just need roll pin punches and holders, they have those too. Midwayusa Brownells Cabelas will carry these.""Come taste my Shillelagh you goat-eatin bastard!""

Jakal,
I actually bought one of their starter kits for $100 that had some tools (upper and lower vise blocks, armorer's wrench, torque wrench etc.) It came with a starter punch and a normal punch, but it mushroomed the VERY FIRST time I used it. Just wanting to get some good tools that will work well and last.

Wheeler is ok for occasional use, but if you plan on using you tools a fair bit. I would suggest good US made punches and screwdrivers. The wheeler stuff is a bit soft. Their specialty tips are nice to have on occasion for those once in awhile jobs, but none of those apply to AR builds. Even the tools from brownells have slipped a little in the last 10 years or so. Buy good tools once and enjoy them a lifetime.
