SB uses standard carbine buffers in the AR15.

Maxim uses its own short buffers, which come with the kit.

There's no point to them anymore with the new letters.

We can basically have PDW telescoping stock performance in a brace now, which is a big change.
i didn't know there was new letters. inwas just on the gearhead website checking out their next mod II kr whatever and it uses a full carbine tube and everything which i thought was totally illegal..
        so good to know, thanks!

The only reason to SBR now is so you can have a wider selection of normal carbine stocks in practice.

The pistol brace telescoping MP5-like braces kinda make normal stocks pointless if you're trying to gain a compact option for the AR15 pistol.

Someone sent a letter requesting clarification from ATF about using braces in manners other than intended by the manufacturers, to include placing the brace against your shoulder.

Someone had actually walked by ATF's booth at SHOT Show with a brace duct-taped to their shoulder as a joke, to point out how preposterous their rulings are.

Anyway, they returned the clarification letter saying that they would not be able to regulate people placing braces against their shoulders.

I place stocks on my pectoral muscle anyway, so the parts of the human anatomy being discussed and debated about whether or not they can be regulated don't apply.

Please elaborate! Are you trying to square up to the target? Where is the stock vertically -- below on on the collarbone?

              Planning my next 6.5 build.
This brace group buy would be perfect timing for the project.
The Maxim looks like the best for function, though seems pricey for the small improvements over SB tactical.
Both units look like a good quality component. I'll be in for one.

SB as I can switch out buffers to a Spike's t2 or geiselle system

Another 400 for a RDS. Great.

                        Tagged for development.

                            I'll take one in black.

Let me know the funding details.

Do you want the stock or the pistol brace?

Beats the hell out of me. I want the one that I can build a pistol with, rather than a SBR.
