Not a Grendel, but still a shooter

This is my new to me s and s custom 308, bought it with the intention of rebarreling to a 6.5 creedmoor or 47. But it shoots too good to do that immediately!! This target is 5 shots at 100 yds

This is looking through the scope at about 1.25 miles

I think this belongs on the 308 Forum.

    Nice group.

Is that a nice Vortex scope?

If it is, you are forgiven.

It's harder than you think to hold steady and get the eye relief correct to take a pic with your phone!!

Shoot the crap out of it until its rebarrel time!

              Looks a tad short... 16" or 18"?

I just bought a Howa Grendel 20" Youth mini action so I can post here.

The feel of these plastic stocked bolt actions is so much different than wood.

They have a light, quick feel. I am an old man but I can appreciate the feel. Wood isn't everything.

You'll love the Grendel, it's one of my favorite rifles. But guns are like potato chips, you just can't have one!!

                          Great looking rifle and results.

With Berger 185s, it's a very capable 1000yd cartridge if you have the twist for them.

You could work that barrel over hard on snaps and movers training, then re-barrel if you're looking to speed up the re-barreling process.

I guess I'm not familiar with snaps and movers training. Sorry for my ignorance

Snaps are when you have partially-exposed targets that come up for a limited time, then go back down quickly or are on automated TGT turners.

We used to do them with pit monkeys.

                              Movers are moving targets.

Those drills tend to compound round count significantly, and are great marksmanship skills to have.
