Stick with SAMMI, .136 bolt face depth and never look back!!!!

Nothing kills the incentive of men faster than a healthy sense of entitlement. Nothing kills entitlement faster than a healthy sense of achievement.

When I got into the Grendel a year ago I went through the same confusion. Seems different manufacturers want to do the Grendel different ways. I made the decision to stick with the SAAMI spec chamber with .136" bolt. You need to be careful when reading barrel descriptions. Sometimes it's not clear what you're getting.

So, I went with a BHW barrel (great deal was part of, not the only, the reason), which is Type I, which is .125. Other than being careful about getting the right bolt I'm not sure any other "downsides" have been really clear to me...

I made the same decision to go SAAMI, based upon the advice given here. I read multiple posts about broken boltse with the 0.125" bolt faces.

.125" bolt face depth results in high likelihood of broken extractors, not the bolt.

Yes, that's right. Thanks for the clarification.
