I hunt the swamps of Georgia for pigs a few times a year. We do spot and stalk. In the thick Palmetto areas you will often get shots of 10 yards or even less. My first trip down several years ago I missed a couple small pigs at "real" close ranges. I have changed my zero for trips down there now to 50 yards (usually max range of shots) and make sure I know how it impacts very close. Always try for heads shots hoping to drop them quick. If they run into the thicks stuff they are often difficult to recover.
