Match Grade Machine (MGM) has just released a 6.5 Grendel barrel for the Thompson Center Contender G2. This is the first time a 6.5 Grendel has been produced for the Contender G2. The original Contender did not have the frame strength for the Grendel but the added strength of the G2 does allow for this higher pressure round. MGM started shipping these barrels this week. Haus of Arms should have some in stock soon.
The mounting lug is different that a standard Contender's to prevent it from being mounted on the earlier frames.
I got lucky and won a complete rifle from Haus of Arms that had one of the first 6.5 Grendel barrels on it. Should have a range report within the next week. It is a beautiful piece of equipment. Barb Wire spiral fluting on the barrel, a Coffee Laminated thumb hole stock and a Leupold 3-9 40mm on top.
I added a sling made by Frank Mies.
it is a throwback to my childhood days where if it said ACME on it a coyote was going to get hurt!
