    SOLD: Group Buy 20 inch Barrel and Bolt Completed Upper

    SOLD!

    Here's the specs and performance data as assembled;

    Group Buy 20" Faxon barrel and bolt with Forum logos with about 40 rounds fired
    ALG 15 inch black Mlok rail- new
    Rainier Arms Ultramatch Billet Upper Mod1- couple hundred round in another barrel configuration in good condition, perfect snug barrel fit and torqued to specs.
    Aim Surplus NiB bolt carrier - from another build but in great condition
    VG6 GAMMA 65 Compensator - new
    SLR adjustable gas block also from another build but functioning perfectly.
    New milspec charging handle

    I think it's a little over $700 invested discounting for a couple of the used parts. I'd take $500 for the assembly shipped CONUS.

    Velocities over the Magnetospeed;

    Hornady 123 ELD-M ... AVG = 2508 fps...STDEV = 19.6 fps
    Reloads 123 ELD-M with 31.2 CFE223 seated to 2.260...AVG = 2546 ...STDEV = 11.6 fps

    Grouped around one inch or less on both at 100 yards with no load development;

    The one trade I would consider is a high quality chassis for a Remington 700 short action.

    Here's the assembled upper

      Price reduced to $500 shipped.

      I will be selling this one way or another. Anyone want part of the upper make your offers because we are getting to the point where it's worth more disassembled.

        What did you ever determine about the tight chamber? I remember you saying you had issues with round ejection and with only 40 rounds shot wondering if this is still a issue?

          Turns out the ejection issue was due to the adjustable gas block I used initially. When I switched to the SLR adjustable gas block I used on another build it ejected just fine.

          The tight chamber I was seeing was according to my set of Manson Go/No Go gages but turns out to be a non-issue. Factory Hornady Black chambers, fires and ejects just fine as do my reloads. The thread I discussed this on was more related to another of The Horde resizing 7.62x39 and using it in a 20 inch Group Buy barrel. Don't know how that effort turned out for them.

          On the last set of rounds fired, it grouped less than an inch on my reloads and as tight as 0.660 MOA on Hornady Black. I got the velocity data I was looking for and good groups so I stopped. Had I not also bought the Larue Ultimate Upper, this would be a keeper since it was my best effort at my own ultimate upper. It shoots very well for a relatively light weight rig but unfortunately I can't justify keeping it with two other rifles in this caliber.

                How much does the upper weigh with BCG and CH?

                Thanks, Dinny
