    PRVI 120 grain HPBT

Has anyone tried the PRVI Partisan 6.5mm 120 grain hpbt? What's been your results with accuracy and loads?

Last I heard PRVI had recalled their 65G ammo, for reasons not entirely clear. Well, they stated their reason, but it didn't entirely make sense.

Have you bought new ammo or is this existing stock?

Graf & Son sell PPU 120 grain MPT/HP BT bullets and the prices are pretty decent. A friend bought several hundred and he is getting decent accuracy with the PPU bullet. I think the furthest he has shot the 120 grain PPU is about 300 yards and was getting about 1-1.5 MOA.

Not an ideal bullet for long range target work but makes a pretty decent short range target and plinking bullet. I think this bullet would be very effective on feral hogs.

No ammo, I found the bullets to load them.

Prvi Partizan was founded in 1928 and today produces over 350 types of rifle, pistol , revolver and small arms ammunition. Prvi Partizan bulk bullets feature a lead core and copper jacket. Imported from Serbia. This is not loaded ammunition.

That's what I was thinking vascar. I was curious how it would do on hogs.

This is the same bullet as used in the Wolf Gold 120 grain MPT. There a couple of reports of forum members using Wolf Gold 120 grain MPT and it worked on deer. If we had a hog problem where I live I wouldn’t hesitate using that bullet.

It appears Powder Valley has them as well.

I had good results with Wolf Gold when it was available. It shot 3 round sub-minute groups in two barrels for me. If the PRVI is the same bullet it should perform fine.

Really surprised that PPU and Wolf have not put the brass ammo back in production.

On a side note, someone mic the PPU bullets. Are they truly .264 dia.?

I was curious about that too. The Grafs link said the 120 grain are .264 and the 139 grain are .263.

The good lots of factory ammo were very accurate in several different Grendels I built using Lilja barrels, even more accurate than Hornady, but the brass is way soft and uses LRPs.
