105 grain and 118 grain CBB MKZ

These bullets continue to have great success by everyone that try's them.
Almost 2 years in the field with deer, hogs and Elk down, most DRT.
Stable and accurate to 1000 yards at sub .7 MOA.
I keep seeing people here asking for this bullet and that bullet yet a proven high expansion accurate hunting bullet is available and it gets little press here.

Predator Down is the Grendel 1000 yard plus milk jug king and they are all he will hunt with in his Grendel.
Double Naught Spy had great success on hogs with both bullets.

The 118 grain is not to long with the effect of the cavity system, even at 1.349 projectile length because the cavity makes it act like a shorter projectile.
I've seen that comment here a few times but by people that have never even loaded them.
The loads Predator Down took to 1000 yards were loaded at 2.25 OAL.
Proven 2.5x caliber expansion down to 1600 FPS for the 118 MKZ.
That makes it a 450 yards capable hunting bullet out of the Grendel.
Do the math in your favorite ballistics calculator, with .505 true G1 BC.

If you havent tried the CBB MKZ line in your Grendel you should.

CBB, glad they are doing well. Honestly however, I looked at them (esp the 105) but they are up to 2x more expensive than others, so I just can't find myself going there.

      X2.

I can see Hunters going with this, but target shooters putting 1k or more down range per year.... Ouch.

CBB - we get it, cost of materials, and fabrication. No question they are good pills. Just that it is a niche market.

Why do a lot of shooters insist on hunting with target/varmint bullets and target shooting with premium Hunting bullets...?

I really wanted to try them but with Lehigh defense 110g controlled chaos also being lead free but being half the cost got my purchase.

This is where I went also. I don't hunt (or shoot) to 1000 yds, so if something can cover 300-350 for the Grendel, that brackets all I'm looking for in my lil Grrrrs.
If I need to go, say, 400-425 for an antelope, I would probably go with my Creed, even though my 18" and 20" Grendels could cover it...
I certainly applaud the 1K shooters but am not in that league.

Thank you for all the replies.
It helps me to see which calibers and areas I should put my efforts.

I find it interesting that there is talk about bullets that are more expensive like CE and Warner Tool.
Some twice the price of ours. There are a lot of target shooters shooting both.
Also bullets in the same price range as ours.

While Lehigh is a fine bullet in its own right it does not perform to the level ours do.
Ours retain 99% of their weight, while still dumping all its energy in game.
We have a higher BC, a heavier projectile than the other coppers with more retained energy.
The statement about 1000 yards is to show their accuracy capabilities.
Our MKZ line is meant to be the best hunting bullet you can get.
We have the TMT in 6mm for target use.
I was considering a TMT target bullet for the Grendel as well however it looks like it would not be well received.

Again thank you for your input.

Can a person buy them as loaded ammo anywhere?

We are working on that. There have been quite a few asking for it.

You know as I sit here, if we were talking about maybe $0.50 per bullet, instead of $0.70-0.75, that would put them in line with the 129 gr long range Accubond (a premium hunting bullet in the Grendel), and then I could see them being more within a budget like mine.
                          Just a thought.

I agree with this comment. $40 for 100 or $40 for 50 and most folks will probably opt for the $40/ 100. Don't get me wrong, I've played around with the 118 MKZ and they have shot great to 200 yards with less than moa accuracy, but the price point has me looking at other options also.

As for myself, I am just getting ready to start working on loads for them. Once I find the most accurate loads with the highest velocity, those will be hunting loads.
Any and all load data will be appreciated...
