2 Nights, Lots of Hogs, All Grendel Hunting

Exhausting weekend, but a good time hunting with some buddies. They didn't have night gear, so borrowed my buddy, Dave's gear and Dave I brought into the Grendel realm.

Both vids are a bit longer than normal, have lots of hunting and/or shooting. There is some butchery as Brandon and Jim took a LOT of meat home, but no necropsy work. So nothing serious here, but killing hogs and more hogs.

Wow, that was a productive couple of hunts. It is also disturbing to see just how big a problem these things have become.

The problem is pretty big. Interestingly, it is harder and harder to hunt them at various times because they get scared of the properties (good for the landowners we hunt for) and stay away for a while. Then, 1, 2, or 3 weeks later, some return (feeling maybe it is safe again? pressures elsewhere?) or new ones move in and the cycle starts anew. The first 5 hogs in the first video and the first sounder in the second video are from the same place. We had not seen hogs there in quite a while, probably nearly two months, and stopped making is a regular spot to check and the landowner said he would let us know when they came back. Well, as you can see, they are back and using the property. I am sure that as the wheat comes up, the draw will increase dramatically.
