While scouting a new stand location on the north side of the Colorado River with my brother and dad, I bumped this nice boar off his bed on the banks @ 40 yards. Instead of immediately bolting, he stood and paused to figure out what I was. This gave me the 1-2 seconds to lower the rifle on him and get a round off. Hurriedly, my first shot was far back but still clipped lung. As he started running, I started shooting. He took 3 out of 4 subsequent shots before folding at a distance of 65-70 yards. Taped out to 230lbs. Ammo used was 120 Barnes TTSX by Precision Firearms. Rifle is my tried and true JP Enterprise 18" Grendel.
