    Another lightweight grendel

Hi folks, Ive been skimming through the forum for about a year now, and figured Id post some pictures of my finished howa. It started with a whittakers sale, that turned into a year long build. I had Wayne York at Pendleton stocks make the stock for me, and I must say he did a fantastic job. The cerakote I had done by a local shop. The bottom metal came in at the perfect time. I originally was going to put a 2-7x32 scope on it but found a really good deal on the 3-9x40 with the cds dial. I settled with 123 gr SST and 8208 (just dont mind that left one )

Very nice. I have a soft spot for lightweight hunting rifles. That one should serve you well.

Nice rifle. I bought the youth Howa mini Grendel last year and carried it deer hunting.
I left it mostly stock. I cut down the magazine release and put a piece of duct tape on the side of the magazine for more security.
I got a PM saying you tried to send me a PM but my mailbox was full. I deleted some messages so try again if you want.

Shoots the SST very nicely. You have yourself a great rifle for hunting.

I looked back at my past posting and saw I had weighed my Howa Youth model and it was 7lbs 12 oz.
Your stock must be extremely lightweight.
After trying to get a manually operated side charging AR working acceptably for deer hunting in Pennsyslvania, I broke down and bought the Howa Mini Grendel Youth model from Whittakers for $350. The side charging AR could really only be a single shot and mortar the empty out, unless I loaded extremely light to enable manual

I haven't weighed the stock alone yet, but when I was discussing the build with Wayne he said the stock should come in right around 16 oz. I mostly bow hunt, but im pretty excited to put this one to work!
