I have a Sabre 18" CRMV 1/7 twist barrel for sale for 300 with matching bolt. I asked Sabre what there most accurate barrel was and they said without a doubt it was this one. Let me know if interested.

I do not know much about Sabre barrels?? I have researched satern and AA. Is your barrel SS or chrome? Heavy or light?

It is a cromoly vandium barrel. I would consider it medium contour. I put this gun together 3 three years ago. Sabre was one of the top barrel makers for grendel as well as many other AR barrels at that time. ATF shut them down and they are not in business any longer as far as I know (another story). At the time of my build I did a lot of research and ended up going with Sabre based on reference from many good sources. I got the Barrel from Tactical Coordination. They have a website if you are interested in checking them out. I called and talked to the Sabre technicians at the time of the build and they told me this barrel was undoubtedly their most accurate barrel. More so than their 24" or 20". Thats why I chose it.

Great looking rig!!! Are you dissasembling the whole rifle? Does the barrel come with the gas block, tube, muzzle brake? Thats an interesting tube. Is it an extra long quad with hand guard covers?

I am disassembling the upper and will use the lower for another build. There is currently no gas block on the rifle. I ran it with an Adams Arms piston kit, but have removed that and sold it alreadly. It can be run with either gas or piston. The rail will accomodate a piston set-up. The muzzle brake is also for sale. It is a BWA. It does a better job of reducing recoil than anything I know of. It is like shooting a 5.56. The rail is a Daniel Defense 12.0 FSPM with Tango Down rail covers and a Magpul AFG.

OK, excuse my ignorance but is the barrel still drilled for a gas block? I have never ran a piston kit.

No problem with the question, we are all learning. A barrel is not relegated to being used with one system or the other. The only real difference in the gas ports in AR barrels is where they are located how big the manufacture decides to make the whole. This barrel like most AR barrels can be used with either a gas block for a Direct Impingement system or a gas block for a piston system. I chose to run a piston system for a cleaner running gun and for the ability to turn the gas off (an option with the Adams Arms kit) so the gun would operate like a bolt gun. this allowed me to not have to chase brass which due to the rarity and value of grendel brass is especially important. I would simply shoot a round then operate the side charger with my left hand while catching the brass with my right and stowing it in a pocket. You will also hear people argue which is more accurate, gas or piston, but with the system off there would be no disruption to the bolt carrier and therefore in my mind a better option when shooting for accuracy.
The whole upper is available, and in fact that would be my preference in selling that way I don't have to disassemble everything. As a perk to anyone who buys the upper I will throw in a bunch of loaded ammo. I have everything advertised in the classifieds on this site. Let me know if I can answer more questions.
