I have had both poly lowers NFT & couple plumcrazy, they are deff worth checking out. I have herd storyes about them breaking but have not seen one break yet. I put a A2 stock on one and a 2 stage trigger on my hunting lower, and duracoated it OD green and flt DK earth. go for it you will be happy.

Im currently deployed in afghanistan and i can tell you that ive asked some dutch army guys how they like their polymer ar style rifles and they love everything about it but the length (being a battle rifle they said they want shorter barrels) or their 20" barrels. So i would say +1 for having a modern military use these...

My LW-15 lower arrived just yesterday. My first impression is very good. I was surprised to find that the trigger is actually much better than anticipated, and much better than the standard part. It's very crisp, with no creep. The hinge pins are plastic, and really tight fitting. Unfortunately, tools are required to remove the upper. There is no slop though, the rear lug on the upper has a really snug fit to lower. It seems to hold some pretty tight tolerances on the width of the slots there. The lower is noticeably lighter. It does make the gun a little bit more front heavy. As for the polymer, It gives the impression of being very strong. It seems fibrous and hard. The polymer is threaded direct for the pistol grip, no metallic sleeve there. I did start cross threading it when trying to change grips, but running a tap through it fixed that. Still, the threads seem strong. My impression there is that they will hold up to some torque.

I replaced the hammer spring, as this thing is going on my 5.45. My concern here is that the hammer is so light. I wonder about light primer strikes, despite having the high power spring in there.

So far, I'm happy with it. I will see how it holds up.

I purchased one to make a 5.56 lightweight build. Finished, it weighs 5.59 pounds. Not bad considering none of the other components were specifically chosen for weight savings. I haven't test fired it yet. It doesn't appear to be that nose heavy, but I'm using a 10" lightweight profile barrel with a 4.5" permanently attached flash hider.

I'm using a heavy profile 16" barrel with MI smooth rail hand guard. The rifle weighs an even 6 pounds.

well i have one ordered for May delivery. 108 bucks altogether for a complete lower and 6 position stock. I did not know you need tools to remove the upper. this is very disappointing to hear. what kind of tools? you cant just pop the pins and remove the upper? grrrrrrr!

I think rambozo is saying that the fit is very tight and the pins are difficult to push out with a finger, requireing some other tool. I use the point of a catridge to push out stubborn pins

    Exactly.

They are tight. Maybe they will break in, or they can always be replaced. It's not a big deal at all.

Many of my aluminum lowers are also tight and require a tool to remove the pins. So my poly lower is no different than some of my aluminum ones. In fact, one of my aluminum lowers has NEVER broken in, and remains ridiculously tight years later. I guess I should do a little work on that pin/hole. Add that to my already absurdly long to-do list.
