I have come to the conclusion that the Ammo is just bad, the ammo must have been old stock.Combined with a Polygonal barrel already running at a higher rate of pressure it has to be the ammo.I have torn this rifle down to bits and pieces this last week and can find nothing that looks as though it is malfunctioning. I have added some more photos but until my A-max ammo arrives I can not test it out.The only change I made is to add an H buffer and await the ammo.http://www.65grendel.com/forum/album.php?albumid=67

I have researched enough similar problems with this ammo now, that I am confident the ammo is the problem and yes a H buffer will definitely help. Now awaiting A-max ammo.

georgio, did you measure the jump with the wolf ammo? I had a box of wolf sp. that was loaded long-right up to contacting the lands. I shot 2 rnds. and noticed the loads seemed like magnums. I had to push the bullets in with the rest of the batch . When I bought my new upper, I bought some Horn 129 factory AA loaded ammo-the oal.'s on all were 2.271-2.278, they wouldn't fit the mag. The crappy cprod. mags usually need the lips gently lifted, release the bolt in slo-mo. to see where the bullet tip hits the ramp left & right . The old forum had a tutorial on mag. adjustments. I remember most of it, I spent a fair amount of time there....

I had some problems with mags too. Switched to mags from C Products and never happened.

I wound up buying 123 grain Amax and am awaiting the ammo. The mags are ASC I though I would be avoiding c-products but from what I am learning ASC bought c-products tooling. The wolf ammo was really thin cased up at the bullet, I can actually move the bullet around, hence the bent bullet and case while trying to chamber.I also believe these were old stock, I found a lot of issues on google with this ammo.
At this point I just want to get the ammo to see where I am at, but you are probably right the mags will have to be adjusted.I swear though that the wolf rounds were hot loads.

When the 123 Amax -gets tested -by you, and if the mag. tweaks work -let us know. Wolf brass is thin-if you reload you need to adjust for that inside diam.- to keep neck tension. I throw away 5-12 wolf brass every time I am at the depriming die - per 100...., ( after the wolfs have been shot & resized 4-5 times ) -pushing the spent primers out with no effort is the sign,= send them to the recycle bin.

You are correct the primers just pop out with no effort.Sad part is this was supposed to be corrected by Wolf and probably was but there is so much old stock out there that you have no way of knowing who is selling what.
I did finally get the A-max yesterday and hopefully can get out this weekend.

Good luck, the A-max sounds like a great unit-I won't use it for hunts here- illegal- has to expand-mushroom, ABAP.--the old wolf stuff is still out there, and in here! 4 boxes of SP- I bought in '08- are still left in the vault.... wolf brass, and old AA - inspired- wolf loaded ammo. I think I want a REFUND., make it a coupon ,to use on the future ( questionable quality of the steel case 110 ammo, that may arrive--some year?? ) ,,, just thinking out loud. BTW---- federal brass is not perfect either,, I fireformed 20 on Mon.-- 2 had no tension on the primers, while pushing them out,( also lost 3 Sellior & Bellot -3 times thru the shooting cycle). The key to any happiness with this round, and the best success,--- is to buy AA-Lapua brass. Hornady is the secondary choice-IMO. Become a REnfield, and move on with your enslavement-of the Grr., cartridge-----and Dracula himself--Bill A., Geez Bill,,,, Any way to cut a chain? hee.

Finally got out again to shoot my Grendel with the new ammo, and it turns out it was the wolf ammo from the start.
Using A-max 123 grain I fired off 80 rounds without any failures, and was able to sight in my scope at 150yds, holding 1"
Whatever Wolf ammo I received it was awful blowing out primers and failing to chamber, some of the rounds out of the box were not straight, I was ready to scrap the gun.
Thanks to all for your help
